From an early age I knew my future lay in sport. After many years of success in different sports, I decided on a career in athletics. But not just the one event! I took up the challenge of the Decathlon, ten gruelling events spread over two day of competition. The ultimate event in track and field athletics!

After rapidly progressing through the ranks and collecting a number of national titles and records along the way, I finally arrived on the world stage in August 1996 winning a World Junior Silver Medal in Sydney, Australia. This was to become a platform for my international success and the start of a ten year quest to win a Major Title.

As I strived for perfection, no stone was left unturned, with top class trainers, doctors, physiotherapists and nutritionists all employed to bring out the best in me.

In a little over a decade, these have been some of my major achievements as an international athlete:

After more than a decade as Great Britain's No.1 decathlete and with awards such as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, Best New Comer 1999, I retired in June 2008. I still work on a regular basis with the BBC, Sky, Setanta and various radio stations across the country as a presenter and pundit.
|
In January 2009 I decided to return to education to study for my National Diploma in Advanced Personal Training with leading company Premier Global. Now I can share my knowledge, experience, and motivation so that you can achieve your goals.
